Have a question about OTT or the tuning process? Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions from customers. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to talk through your specific setup.

How long does the tuning process take?2026-03-01T13:51:53+00:00

The tuning process typically takes 20–30 minutes for standard OTT calibrations. Vehicles with superchargers or significant modifications may take 1–2 hours, depending on the extent of the build.

Will the tune void my warranty?2026-03-01T13:52:26+00:00

Like any aftermarket modification, an ECU tune can potentially affect your factory warranty if a dealer can demonstrate that it directly caused an issue. That said, there have been no reported warranty problems related to OTT tunes across thousands of installations on multiple platforms and forums.

Can the dealer detect the tune?2026-03-01T13:55:08+00:00

Your vehicle’s ECU ID will remain stock. However, the CVN number is updated after the ECU has been flashed. In rare cases where your ECU is sent to a higher-level Toyota diagnostic facility, this change may be detectable. This situation arises only under very specific circumstances.

And thanks to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, your factory warranty cannot be voided just because you’ve tuned your ECU. A dealer would need to prove that the tune directly caused a specific issue before denying warranty coverage.

Can I go back to the stock tune?2026-03-01T13:53:24+00:00

Yes. Returning to the factory calibration is a straightforward process. Your stock tune is preserved and can be restored at any time.

Will the tune fix my speedometer for larger tires?2026-03-01T13:56:03+00:00

No, speedometer calibration is handled by a separate dedicated device. The OTT tune does not adjust speedometer readings. If you’re running larger tires, you’ll need a speedometer calibrator in addition to the tune.

Can my vehicle be tuned if I’ve removed my catalytic converters or have a check engine light?2026-03-01T13:55:37+00:00

No. All emissions components must be fully intact, and any active check engine lights must be diagnosed and resolved before a tune can be applied. This is a firm requirement of the OTT platform.
